Sant\u00e9 Sud has been present in Madagascar since the 1990s, historically working to improve access to healthcare in rural areas. Projects to support the installation of around a hundred community GPs in rural areas have enabled Sant\u00e9 Sud to forge solid partnerships in the country, and develop new projects adapted and co-constructed with local authorities in the territory.<\/p>\n

Since 2019, with the support of the Madagascan Ministry of Public Health, which encourages the development of independent paramedical activity to strengthen local healthcare, Sant\u00e9 Sud’s actions are in line with this dynamic.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

In rural areas, Sant\u00e9 Sud’s programs aim to strengthen health coverage by developing a quality healthcare offering in the areas of sexual, reproductive and child health.<\/p>\n

Sant\u00e9 Sud is pursuing its commitment by facilitating the establishment of private midwives in community birthing practices at fokontany level, the smallest administrative unit in Madagascar. This approach promotes access to healthcare for rural communities, particularly women, young people and children living in rural areas.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
